I think I encountered possibility the worst Samsung update in existence. The side buttons on phones, historically, have been used so that when you hold down the button, you can turn off the device.

Well... in this new update... it DOESN'T do that anymore. Instead, it brings up the absolute BS Google Gemini "feature". No amount of holding down makes it shut down.

I hate AI being shoved down our throats at the expense of other ACTUALLY useful features.

@MewishBab This hit my Pixel too! Was kinda surprised when I encountered it. It's very nice of them to totally change the function of a button without asking, but I guess they're running out of ways to shove AI down everybody's throat. 🙄

Dunno if the settings are in the same place on Samsung phones, but on mine this setting can be changed under System > Gestures > Press and hold power button.

On my phone the alternate shortcut to bring up the actual power menu is Power + volume up.
