The world has changed. Traveling along with major conferences and colocated workshops is no longer easy, or even doable, for way more authors than just a couple of years ago. We want Swiss AI Days to become a welcoming destination for them - or at least for those in Europe - to present their research to their peers.

The publication and peer review have changed. Quite a few foundational ML papers only exist as arXiv preprints. Even with thousands of citations, they weren't judged as sufficiently exciting at the time. We want Swiss AI Days to become a destination for sound, high-quality ML research, even if it is not on the latest hot topic of the day.

Finally, I want my community - the GenML security - to find a home. One where you don't have to be the biggest benchmark to be relevant. One where everyone understand what the threat model is, want to see yours, and can judge it. Where an honest paper addressing a sub-problem or making a first step to solve a really hard one that isn't widely known yet doesn't get dinged for not solving it in its entirety. And I see Swiss AI Days becoming such a conference.
