I learned there's a whole world of really cheap Apple Pencil clones for simpler needs (most of them lack pressure/angle/etc. support) that pair just as easily as the "real" things by just working via proximity, like the Apple Pencil USB-C, Logitech Crayon, etc.

I got this one for $18 and it's totally fine! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4L8GKR6?tag=marcoorg-20

This one for $30 is cuter and has a soft tip, like a Paper Mate felt-tip pen: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNWPK3MM?tag=marcoorg-20

At these prices, it's worth keeping one as a backpack spare!

@marcoarment wait until you find out about 3rd party watchbands. Wait a minute. Is there a show segment here? 3rd party stuff that's just as good as the Apple stuff?
@SwampYankee @marcoarment or 3rd party watch faces….oh never mind
@marcoarment I also learned recently after losing the pen for my Kindle Scribe that apparently most of the eInk tablet pens are also compatible with each other. My MS Surface Pro, Remarkable 2, and Boox pens all work on all of my eInk tablets.
@marcoarment I agree 100%. I have owned the $18 version for almost a year and use it with my iPad mini al the time.
@marcoarment awesome going to grab one for each of my kids iPads.
@marcoarment AND…those cheapies are iPad-ecumenical: work with any / every ipad that supports any flavour of Pencil.
@marcoarment Nice! Ive wanted a pencil just for basic, basic stuff and could never bring my self to buy the Apple pencil. Picked this up!
@marcoarment awesome, if your new app does come to fruition, I’ll have the perfect excuse to buy a new iPad :-)
