I learned there's a whole world of really cheap Apple Pencil clones for simpler needs (most of them lack pressure/angle/etc. support) that pair just as easily as the "real" things by just working via proximity, like the Apple Pencil USB-C, Logitech Crayon, etc.

I got this one for $18 and it's totally fine! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4L8GKR6?tag=marcoorg-20

This one for $30 is cuter and has a soft tip, like a Paper Mate felt-tip pen: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNWPK3MM?tag=marcoorg-20

At these prices, it's worth keeping one as a backpack spare!

@marcoarment I also learned recently after losing the pen for my Kindle Scribe that apparently most of the eInk tablet pens are also compatible with each other. My MS Surface Pro, Remarkable 2, and Boox pens all work on all of my eInk tablets.
