Friction Quick Tip #15 - Path mask apparition

In friction you can use an animated path to mask anything here is how you can do it !

Text 1/2 :

Get any object as a layer.
Create a path roughly corresponding to the object.
Set its stroke width to completely cover the object.
You can reduce its opacity to see the arrow underneath to work.

Add Path Effect -> Sub-Path.
Animate its max length parameter to get the desired effect (0=min, 100=max).
You can set the keyframes to splines to have acceleration/slowdown effect in the animation.
Turn the opacity back to 100 (max).

Text 2/2 :

Select both layers and group them, promote this group to layer
(to act like a classic layer and prevent blending from the group layers to outside layers).
Set the path blending mode to DstIn to make it act like a mask.

You can add a Blur effect to this path to feather the mask.
