the fun thing about analog photography is that it opens up opportunities for whole new hobbies such as analogue camera repair 🙃

(For context, I was just asking Luna for advice about my own Olympus OM-10, which I fear I too may have to disassemble and troubleshoot soon) @luna https://pony.social/@luna/115641252995615933

Attached: 2 images for the curious, here was the issue: see that tiny screw? when you finish a roll of film, you pull the silver knob upwards before rewinding the roll, and it rubs against that screw. do that enough times, and eventually the screw loosens to a point where it hits the viewfinder block and gets jammed

@daisy @luna I am considering learning enough Ukrainian and figuring out what parts to get 3d sintered metal to repair my Kiev 88. Sending it back to Kyiv is a bit inconvenient, after all…
@daisy @luna Thanks. Now I have the urge to drop everything and repair my old Horizon 202 so it doesn't eat film by the roll any more.
@daisy @luna oh wow, I had an OM-10 waaaay back in the day. great camera, glad that they’re still in use 🤘
