Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate, and a happy day to all.

I'm really thankful that local farmers grow really good potatoes. Food wasn't cheap this year but with a big pile of mash on the plate everybody is overstuffed. And my sister has a real knack for great gravy. I've made it with her. She doesn't do anything all that special. A little white wine to deglaze the pan, simmer the juices a bit, cornstarch, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper. But mine never comes out anywhere near so good.
