My Dad passed away in February, so this is the first Thanksgiving without him here. He was always the pie maker, but that duty now has passed down to me. The good news is that Dad did a really good job of keeping recipes at hand. The bad news is that some of his recipes (like for pecan pie) was just a list of quantities and ingredients, with the method stored in his head. Nonetheless, I think I pieced everything together enough to produce a good looking ... https://dazeend.org/2025/11/5673/
@DazeEnd care to share the pecan pie recipe?

@robinwarren Certainly. The recipe is in the image, but I had to piece together the method:

1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a sauce pan. Heat until it reaches a full boil for at least 3 minutes. Then set off the heat.

2. Beat eggs and salt until frothy.

3. While continuously beating the egg mixture, drizzle in the sugar mixture until combined.

4. Mix in pecans.

5. Pour filling into the pie shell, then bake 60 minutes at 300°F.

@DazeEnd brilliant, thanks. I'll give it a go 🙂
