The weird dual mode KTC 5k monitor is on sale for $535. If you absolutely can only have a single monitor for Mac work and PC gaming this is probably the least worst choice.

@paul I'm intrigued by the tilt-only stand. Looks like it is higher than the Studio Display, so may be OK for me, and I'd prefer it if it doesn't wobble. Doesn't seem to be available here in the UK though.
