[note: this is not a glowing recommendation of programming]
i'm looking at my steam library and my thoughts are "i'd rather write a webdav server"
do you understand
(please recommend me multiplayer coop games that are actually fun. team pvp is fine too if i can make a team with like 2 people total and have it work)
@whitequark I can warmheartedly recommend Deep Rock Galactic !
- PvE co-op up to 4 people (closer to 4 is better imho).
- Single-purchase game, no microtransactions bullshit.
- Overall pretty simple mechanics, generally good vibes.
- If you resort to matchmaking, possibly nicest game community I've ever gotten to play with
- Lore is simple but fun. Game and devs don't take themselves seriously. Just so good overall !
(I've seen your answer dismissing satisfactory as too close to programming, I get it and assume that rules factorio out too. Also, I've seen a mention of pvp, not sure if that includes fps or not ^^')
(Also, if you're unsure but want to give it a try with someone familiar with the game, feel free to ping me ;) )
@whitequark well then, I'll let the trailer do its job :)

I realize I somehow forgot to explicitcly mention what I think makes it so good :
There are 4 classes, and the game is built around making them naturally synergize. That's why 4 dwarves (one of each class) is ideal, although 3 works just fine. 2 is a bit unwieldy imho but does work. Solo is fine (a bot accompanies you to compensate) but kinda sad.
(again, feel free to hit me, should you want to try :) )
