If you haven't been able to ship your iOS/macOS 26 update yet and have been feeling bad about it, just remember:

Apple still hasn't shipped iWork with Liquid Glass, and Apple also opted all its pro apps out of Liquid Glass.

Final Cut Pro on iPad still doesn't support the background video exporting feature that was added to iPadOS 26 specifically to enable it.

Swift Playground doesn't even support the iOS 26 SDK, so you can't build Liquid Glass apps with it even if you wanted to

@stroughtonsmith thanks!

Though I am not that stressed 😀 So far only one feedback email requesting Liquid Glass update.

@stroughtonsmith suddenly I feel lighter. Thank you.

@stroughtonsmith
'Apple still hasn't shipped iWork with Liquid Glass, and Apple also opted all its pro apps out of Liquid Glass.'

I figure this is to save them some time when they finally quietly pull the whole thing from the OS because it sucks so horribly much.

@stroughtonsmith Also liquid glass is first and foremost much less functional and more hectic compared to previous UI

@stroughtonsmith In hindsight, devs who adopted Liquid Glass made a mistake in my book. I don’t see any of the supposed furor over lack of Liquid Glass in apps. Quite the contrary.

I think at this point I’d recommend devs wait for next year to see what inevitable breaking improvements Apple makes to SwiftUI.

@stroughtonsmith what this says to me is that most of Apple's application teams probably find out about new iPadOS features at just about the same time the rest of us do.

I hope Apple takes its time. I struggle to think of how Liquid Glass can improve any of its pro-level apps.

@robnee @stroughtonsmith I’m not a developer — where my head is at: I was admiring the beauty of the app icons on the Dock on my XDR display this morning — but I remember how long Aqua took to get going. It was years, albeit tied up with the OS 9 -> OS X transition. “Platinum” was frequently seen by users of OS X from 2000-2003 … iteration was just slower in those days.

(I’m reminded of my professional history in broadcast engineering — in my era and again in my Dad’s era, the technology transition seemed like “the big one”, but when I look back, we were always in one transition, then another, then another)

I’ve not kept up — or is this thread already reacting to it — but has everybody seen this gallery with the video animations? (And in the webpage one level up is links to a ton of elements and other documents … looks like a lot of work but it’s also ready to begin?)
