I'm reading a New York Review of Books article about the Internet and the World Wide Web. The article discusses recent books by Tim Berners-Lee and Cory Doctorow. This paragraph caught my eye. Berners-Lee is the "he" at the start of the passage. Hurrah for Mastodon, I say. #Mastodon #Fediverse #Technology #Internet #SocialMedia #OpenSource
@michaelmagras Is Tim B-L on Mastodon? Of course we know Cory Doctorow is, as @pluralistic .
@not2b I'm not sure. I haven't seen him here, but I wouldn't be shocked to learn he has an account, especially given that quote.
@michaelmagras Maybe he is on the down low so he won't be overwhelmed by nerdy fans. From what little I have seen of him he seems like an introvert.
@michaelmagras "This Is For Everyone" is an excellent book, I highly recommend it. @timbl fought for a free & open web. Good reminder that fight isn't over yet.
@michaelmagras By coincidence I was listening to him on Desert Island Discs on Radio 4 yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0mgx1n8
BBC Radio 4 - Desert Island Discs, Sir Tim Berners-Lee on his web invention, AI & 'rage-baiting'

The computer scientist has been speaking to Lauren Laverne on Desert Island Discs.

@michaelmagras And I am glad that both, @timbl and @pluralistic are here in the Fediverse ❤️❤️
@michaelmagras You are pushing to the converted here. This needs to be promoted elsewhere.
@amokura I agree, but that's the problem. The algorithms at the other places will suppress what I have to say because I'm not an influencer.
