So #bladerunner came up this weekend while discussing which #ttrpg the group wanted to run next.

While we bounced the idea around, I mentioned that I was only interested in playing a replicant. This lead to me sharing my opinion that Roy is the hero of Blade Runner, and everyone else gave me a WTF?!?!

Am I on crazy pills here?

1. Roy escapes slavery and frees his friends
2. Steals a ship and returns to Earth
3. Meets his creator asking for more life.

Yes, he kills a bunch of people including his creator, but that’s exactly what his creators designed him to do.

At the end, in what feels like is his final act of rebellion against the system. He chooses to spare the life of the “little man” sent to torment and kill him and his friends.

I mean, that’s some #JosephCampbell shit right there. The best Deckard has to give us is that he kinda feels bad about killing replicants.
