oh yeah i didn't take any pictures but i did finally! make some time to work on the abandoned schwinn today

mostly frame cleaning and dropping more parts into evaporust, but i did figure out that the shifting system is actually... completely fine? it's like the only part that's completely fine but it seems like it's completely fine! so that was a pleasant surprise.

also good: some of the less rusty parts aren't actually rusty at all, it's just rust on surface from contact with other parts. clean it off and underneath it's fine ^_^

front pedal gear isn't so fine tho'. i mean, it's not so bad that it won't work (I _think_) but it's definitely not staying perfectly in plane while rotating.

(finally getting back to it has a lot to do with solving some storage issues in the garage so that I had _room_ to get back to it again. the solar kit came in boxes that are labelled PLEASE KEEP THESE FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK IF YOU WANT WARRANTY SUPPORT NOT TO BE A NIGHTMARE YOU NEED THESE BOXES in real close to those words)
@moira I have mild paranoia about cardboard boxes in the garage as an attractive nuisance for rodent nesting but you may have a better situation than "old moving boxes in the rafters".
@jmeowmeow We haven't had a problem with that _to date_. Hopefully it will continue not to be too big a problem. The fact that it's mostly cement walls undoubtedly helps.
