@chad the thing about these projects is that there is commercial interest and demand for what they provide, and there are companies who are sponsoring and planning them.
Smith can't just whine to the Feds demanding "build me a pipeline", there has to be a reason, and if we are being real fossil fuels are not a global growth industry so nobody in their right mind would make a "generational investment" in fossil fuels. It would be like investing in an asbestos mine or tobacco farming or manufacturing typewriters.
Southern Alberta is like the sunniest and windiest part of Canada and so great for renewable energy. Calgary has great potential as a logistics hub and growing aerospace industry. Edmonton area has heavy manufacturing capability. The whole province's agricultural sector could use support to release its full potential too.
The lack of vision in our current government is appalling quite frankly.
