Why Don’t People Return Their Shopping Carts? A (Somewhat) Scientific Investigation - by Hannah B. Waldfogel - Behavioral Scientist

For reasons I can’t fully explain, people’s failure to return their carts bothers me more than it probably should. But then I realized I can do something about it.

@Flipboard

and the app is cool and all but jfc again what is with all the tracking attempts?

y'all are by far the worst offenders of any app i use

where do i turn this shit off? my phone blocks them but wow.

@jamil @Flipboard I hear ya. Been working at Flipboard for 15 years now. It's (in general) a feature requested by partners (e.g. publishers and creators) so they have an idea on where to invest their time and energy since they exist (partly) due to clicks.

Federation changes all this, one of the reasons most of our energy is on Surf where we are not doing this (I believe).

When you see flips via ActivityPub (e.g. posts on federated publishers accounts or reposts in their magazines) we got rid of that.
