I've started work on a series of machine drawings, probably called Diagrams of Dispossession (nod to Yusoff). The drawn elements are taken from prospecting reports, corporate presentations, mine plans, and environmental impact assessments for new extraction projects for battery metals and circular economy resources in sub-Saharan Africa. These are drawn on pages from Economic Surveys of the Colonial Territories, which were published annually by Her Majesty's Stantionary Office.
A couple more of these completed over the weekend.
A prospecting profile estimating the total rare earth content at Kangankunde drawn on top of a page from the 1951 economic survey of west African colonial territories.
And the plan of an acid leaching, iron and phosphorus removal plant drawn on the title page of Major Capital Works in the Colonial Territories.
