A question for men who used to have long hair but now wear theirs short: what prompted you to cut it? I'm really curious.

@AdaraAstin
in 1996 I locked my SF apartment door and tried to walk away, but I couldn't, because I had locked my ponytail in the door. on the spot I decided to cut it off, so I went to the only hair salon I knew back in Berkeley.
the woman who did my hair turned out to be very toppy ("keep your head down!") and that's when I discovered that I really liked that. so arguably I kept my hair short to have that experience more.
@datn This is magnificent!
You have set a high bar for all hair story tellers to follow, Dan!
