If we're in a simulation, the developers definitely pushed to prod on a Friday and haven't checked the logs since 2016.
@Daojoan or the user running the simulation got bored in 2016 and is intentionally messing with things to see what breaks.
@Daojoan All the player characters on the USA sever think that this, while super contrived and incredibly badly written, is adding some much needed excitement. They were playing on the USA server anyway for the almost infinite exploitability of NPCs if you make it through the eye of the needle.
@Daojoan I thought about that when someone pointed me to the whitehouse gov website page mimicking MySpace...
Not sure I want to add a link to it...
@Daojoan Dunno.. The more I learn about the systems of the US republic and their founding, the more I believe it was kind of designed to do this from the start.
@Daojoan maybe as the simulation is ending, they weren’t getting as much turmoil and distress as they needed to feed-off, so they cranked up the dials?
@Daojoan It definitely smacks of people messing with their Sims.
@Daojoan I didn't think that gorilla getting shot was a `canon event` yet here we are.
@Daojoan We're in a very long list of EXPECT_THROW
@Daojoan Oh, that would be so easy to resolve for a developer: git reset —hard
Unfortunately real life is more like drawing without an eraser.
