Our @johnvoorhees said it best:

Apple Recreated the App Store on the Web with No Way to Download or Buy Apps https://www.macstories.net/news/apple-recreated-the-app-store-on-the-web-with-no-way-to-download-or-buy-apps/

@viticci @johnvoorhees my first thought was "finally, seems like we should've been able to buy stuff off-device ages ago" only to find out that you can't. I'm not sure why this exists without that.
@viticci @johnvoorhees Is this just for LLM's to train on all of this data maybe?
@refactoredd @viticci That's an interesting theory, but I think LLM companies could probably scrape that data from the iTunes API. Could be though.
@johnvoorhees @refactoredd @viticci I used to use sites like Appshopper to find out how much I paid for an app because the app store never told you once you bought it. Maybe this serves this purpose.

@viticci @johnvoorhees

The web is an open platform.
The App Store is on the web.
Therefore, the App Store is an open platform.

@viticci @johnvoorhees Didn’t we have this already for over a decade? Or did they remove it at some point in the past?
