Minecraft Java modding is about to get a lot easier and more interesting

Mojang announced a big change is coming to Minecraft: Java Edition, one that could make it a whole lot easier to make mods and perhaps make them more exciting.

@gamingonlinux it is inevitable that Mojang will drop java support, its not financially viable

it will also be a huge slap in thier face as thats where the majority of the actual fanbase live

@karrfis @gamingonlinux Bedrock has about 120M player base vs 32m on java. The casuals and the target audience (children) exist there.

The only people still playing Java are the old player base, and tinkers.

Console players aside, java holds
the majority of content creators
artists, map builders, modders and tool builders, servers and alternate multiplayer systems turning off the tap will have a colossal impact on the whole Minecraft Ecosystem, the amount of money and content wrapped up in Java is insane
