Now the GenZs at work who have been saying "let me chatGPT that for you" are now accusing me of only wanting "tribal knowledge" as though that's a bad thing? Are we really moving to a world where understanding what mere people think about a subject is becoming frowned upon?
@mikedewar Do they not realize that tribal knowledge, especially at a big company, is the most cherished thing? That, and instinct and intuition? Non-tribal knowledge is so easily accessible that having it in memory is worthless.
@beoff I think a lot of this stuff is more radically atomising than we realise. When you actively encourage workers to use a conversation-simulation tool more than you encourage them to talk to each other, it's going to have weird effects...
@mikedewar But why did workers have to RTO if they were just incentivized to not be social and just interact with chatbots on screens all day?!?!
@beoff I'm pretty sure the RTO had more to do with the ownership structure of real estate, no?
@mikedewar And I was told it was for magical in person conversations.
