Edit: source is Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis.

@c_dan4th This is a Pearls Before Swine comic; I went to find the original, to link to it, as I often like to do, but it's behind a paywall. :^p

When I searched for "whose drummer was keith moon pearls before swine", though, Google's helpful AI told me

"Keith Moon was not the drummer for Pearls Before Swine, but for the rock band The Who. The Pearls Before Swine album Familiar Songs featured drummer Billy Mundi, not Keith Moon. "

Thanks, Gemini! /eyeroll

@c_dan4th Amy points out that Gemini could well have *made up* this entire answer; but no, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearls_Before_Swine_(band) suggests that there was in fact a band called Pearls Before Swine, Familiar Songs is a real album, and Billy Mundi was the drummer on that album, so.

i absolutely stan Stephan Pastis and his Pearls Before Swine.

have to point out for the kidlets or any non-Americans out there, that this is the infamous Abbott and Costello baseball stand-up routine, "Who’s on first?" but exquisitely done with Boomer rock ’n roll stars.

@c_dan4th

cc @alxtrnr for flashbacks to the Great Kentish Club run *tm* to Wye and Ware

@Pionir @alxtrnr Just need to work in Wen and Howe (also possibly Whither, Whence, Wherefore…) ;-)
@c_dan4th excellent. One of the classic two part sketches paraphrased. I love it.
@c_dan4th Outstanding!!!!!

@c_dan4th My aunt had an "Almost Famous" moment in high school. She was sent to interview The Who for her local paper as one of their summer interns. This was the infamous night in Flint, Michigan, August, 23 1967, at the local Holiday Inn following a concert, during which Keith Moon's 21 birthday party occurred.

Hearing her talk about everything she saw that night just blew my mind.

@c_dan4th I’m so glad Steve Howe was in there!

@c_dan4th

The #Alttext states the goat is asking for Keith Moon while the mouse does.

Where you (reasonably) so confused after reading the strip to mix them up? 🤪

@stekopf I usually use the AI tool to provide alt text. Apparently I was in a hurry.

@c_dan4th

I doubt AI would provide a useful description of this image - it's too complex.

Anyway, I thought it was funny to mix up the characters in the alt text (but not good for those relying on these descriptions, of course).

There's a new addition to the Abbott & Costello and Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker format from "The Naked Week" on BBCRadio4.

Reporter:
"There's a new report on this problem."

Andy:
"Which is?"

Reporter:
"No, it's got nothing to do with witches, Andy."
