I love leather, but I don’t love killing, so I just have a bunch of fake leather jackets – and they suck. I would love lab grown leather and lab grown meat.

I can respect that. But the point is that leather, as you said, is a byproduct, not a primary product. It’s not like hunters clubbing baby fur seals. People are going to eat cows, might as well use the skins. Or would you have those skins trashed?
