@grumpygamer @Cheeseness "Ask me about Death By Scrolling™"
@grumpygamer Will there be a release on GOG as well?
@thefranke Probably. We just wanted to focus on one store since we're a small team.
@grumpygamer Nice, I'll get my copy on Steam in the meantime. Congrats on the release!
@grumpygamer Maybe i'll just buy it out of principle!
@grumpygamer "Talk to me about Death by Scrolling"
@claudius @grumpygamer Tell me about Death by Scrolling.
@grumpygamer Instant buy. Congratulations for releasing it. 😊
@grumpygamer Bought it. The manual is awesome. :)
@grumpygamer I'm meant to be working on our own top-down pixel-art action adventure but maybe I can call this "research"?
@grumpygamer already on it! Thanks for making cloud saves cross-platform compatible. Many games advertise steam cloud saves that do not sync or work when I switch over to my mac.

@grumpygamer

As soon as it's out on Switch! 😃

@grumpygamer

Game is a lot of fun and super easy to pickup, great job!

In case anyone else is wondering: #deathbyscrolling runs great on Linux and Steam Deck out of the box. @grumpygamer
@rmi It sure does, but the Reaper still gets me
@rmi @grumpygamer it's one of those games that shines on the steamdeck! Love it so far, even though i haven't played it much yet.

@dirkdierickx @rmi @grumpygamer Perfect game for the Steam Deck, I'm loving it so far!

However, I've got one minor nitpick. The Deck uses 1280*800 resolution natively, which is 16:10 aspect ratio. This causes minor letterboxing when running 16:9 locked games. Barely noticeable but I'd still love to utilize the screen fully.

@rmi @grumpygamer I would like to know how was it done, if you are willing to share the secret. Using SDL? Raw xcb calls or raw Wayland calls? Any other library?
@grumpygamer Is it coming to Xbox? Switch maybe?
@grumpygamer PSA: If you're one of those clever people that didn't uninstall the beta test on Stema before installing the final version, then, well, uninstall the beta and verify the game files integrity before playing.
@grumpygamer I tried it out for half an hour (all the time I could spare) this morning, on my Steam Deck. Runs great, I got as far as the 5th level.
@grumpygamer
Another funny coincidence.
@grumpygamer Nice, bought it on Steam, and I'll probably buy it again for the Switch. An iOS / Apple TV / tvOS version would be cool too.
@grumpygamer Congrats on the release! Any plans to release it in other stores (e.g. GOG) ?
@gudinoff Probably, we're a small team so we focused on one store for launch.

@grumpygamer Looks like a fun little game. I'm not slighting the game, I just mean "little" in the sense that I died fairly quickly on the first (and so far only) attempt. Appropriately enough by scrolling.

I'm not sold on the music, but that's also a "me" problem. (Though it seemed a lot more grating in the trailer, so maybe I don't need to worry.) My taste in music is... well, let's just say I've spent the past few days trying to catalogue my collection of Spike Jones recordings.

@et_andersson In the Options you can switch between 2 music styles. But both are fast.

@grumpygamer There is? Nice! But... how? These are the only options I can see in the Linux version.

The arrow icon in the upper right corner makes me think maybe there is more to it, but pressing the arrow keys doesn't work here the way it did in the Help dialog. (And there the button icon was slightly different.)

@et_andersson It the icon for Tab

@grumpygamer D'oh! You think someone you solved the monkey wrench puzzle in Monkey Island 2 would recognize a Tab symbol, but apparently not! 😳

I'll probably stick with the non-metal music. Thanks again.

@et_andersson You're not the only one. I am going to change the icon.
@grumpygamer Way ahead of you, Elaine.
@grumpygamer thank you, i needed the reminder
