Depends on what the US law is. In Canada this has been big news since our ally betrayed us. Product of Canada is 98%+ Canadian, Made in Canada is 51%+ but below 98% Canadian. Packaged in Canada is basically getting a vat of oj brought in and poured into containers in Canada.
US companies have been slapping similar looking stickers with a maple leaf and “Canada’s favorite” type labeling to trick consumers who don’t pay much attention. Our grocery monopoly has also been labeling bins of produce as ‘product of Mexico/USA, product of Brazil/USA’’ etc, mixing produce together to sell US shit.
Based on what we’ve been seeing down south, flat out lying to US citizens is completely on brand, and I’d honestly be surprised if that wasn’t the case here.
NutWrenchSome beef is allowed to be labeled “USDA Beef” even if the cow involved has spent 95% of its life overseas. So during its early life, the cow can be fed unapproved hormones, antibiotics and exposed to unhealthy environments because those countries have no laws saying you CAN’T do that.
