Follow-up: the smoke detector in the dumpster continued to sound all through the night and into this morning until our local trash collectors came by.

@sclower Wow cool garbage truck audio! I noticed that I didn't hear anything that sounded like traditional residential garbage truck compactor noises. Do theirs sound different, or did they not compact during that audio recording?

@jaybird110127 I have no idea. I wager compacting happens later.

@sclower LOL too bad you can't pull a @BorrisInABox and set up a wireless mic in the dumpster, then record it getting dumped. He did that in a city trash can once, but somehow missed the actual dump, and the truck drove out of range before compacting.
