Anthropic signs a cloud deal with Google worth tens of billions of dollars that will give them access to up to one million TPUs.

Google invests in Anthropic and then they buy services from Google, committing way more than their current revenue. This mimics the circular deals between OpenAI and Nvidia.

A similar pattern of partnerships occurred during the dotcom era. Hopefully this time’s different.

@carnage4life this reminds me of the much smaller scale circular behavior of so many SoftBank-invested companies in Tokyo all being in WeWorks (despite WeWork at the time being a good multiple more expensive than just renting a random office space and paying a person to manage and clean the office)
