Belgium represented! Lisa Vaelen qualified in 6th place for this final.
First up Deng Yalan from China.
I knew she withdrew but it's heartbreaking to see. Physically she's fine. It looked like a complete mental block, she just hopped over the table and that's it. But then she starts crying and is standing all alone for several minutes waiting for the judges' decision. My heart sank seeing it play out.
Next Josc Roberson from the USA. Bit awkward to go right after a bail. She did very well.
Lisa Vaelen! Both vaults went very well. Only her second vault lacks some difficulty to medal at the world top.
Neutral (Russia). Doesn't hit the first landing. Second one goes amazing. At 17 that's mental strength to be proud of.
Karina Schoenmaier from Germany. Looks like an excellent vault, a Cheng. Then she gets a low score but she needs to perform immediately again. Nails it. Turns out she didn't touch the table with both hands, which gets you a massive deduction of 2 whole points. She clearly didn't know this mistake would cost her this much.
Fontaine from Canada. Dty goes amazing. Beautiful, just a step in landing. Second goes even prettier. Slightly less difficult but textbook execution. Happy 17yo, still has braces :)
Melnikova. dty, very nice but certainly form issues. Second vault similar, high difficulty, not the best execution but still pretty good.
Moerz from Austria. Goes super high but then just does a tuck. Something definitely went wrong but fortunately she managed it very well and landed on her feet. She seems fine and her second vault goes well.

Slightly worried about Deng. I really hope she's fine.
USA Skye Blakeley goes first. Wonderful. Absolute joy to watch.
Melnikova. Excellent.
Netherlands Naomi Visser! She was first reserve but someone got injured so she got into the final. Went super nice. An empty kip I think? Amazing style.
Australia McDonald. Very good. Her tkatchev was sky high, camera had to zoom out.
So far this final has been a treat.
Chinese Yang Fanyuwei. Started with an obvious wobble but then goes well. Very high difficulty.
Hungary Zoja Szekely. Very nice, super high Jaeger. Collapses after the dismount :( She'd hurt her knee yesterday and this landing was clearly not okay.
Neutral Vasileva. Very nice to watch.
Algerian Kaylia Nemour! Fuck yeah, unbelievable.

Faith@bebatjof Visser got into the final because even though Melnikova and Vasilieva are "neutral" they still count as the maximum 2 per country so Roschina didn't qualify even though she scored high in qualifying. Veerman was first reserve.
