A different author, after waiting 5 months without a reply, presents the same basic idea (answer me, damn it!), though with greater deference (this time in 1854):
"I have the honor to inform you, with all due respect, that I have, since that time, been anxiously expecting to be favored with an answer on the subject, but having been disappointed in my expectations so far, I find it necessary again to submit the matter for your consideration."
