There was already a European citizens' initiative on this issue 1-2 years ago. The EU referred the matter back to the member states, and since then we have been back to square one.

The states cannot agree on whether to adopt permanent daylight saving time or standard time.
What was probably left out is that in the 1940s, too many states switched to CET, which makes no sense geographically.
