We were miles and miles away and I was small, but my parents were teachers they never forgot this day.

@KateCelyn I was nine and living in England. I had night terrors afterwards for a while. Your post has brought a physical change to my breathing even all these years later. Looking back, think it was an important boost to my empathy.
@LShashaty I remember it too - I think lots of us smaller people did, because it happened to people like us or our friends and siblings. As village kids, we did a trick and treat collection for the support fund on Halloween - our suggestion (well, the older ones), endorsed by the parents.
