apparently, the Insulting Noodle Reference is specifically a banner put up by the power company headquarters (in response to criticism of some kind from residents? I guess?), reading "You enjoyed the free noodles provided by the Wolsong Headquarters during the cherry blossom marathon, didn’t you!", which yeah actually that is pretty insulting

@halcy they are, by a wide margin, the richest charity in the UK. they used to run donkey exhibitions at beaches known for a high elderly tourist populations and convince them to sign over their assets in their wills. at one point they had so much money that when you divided by the number of donkeys in their care it was more than a million pounds each.
@halcy they seem to do an ok job at the whole donkey thing, but they've received a lot of flak over the years because of their significant fundraising efforts that seem to go far beyond their actual needs (and in ways that feel predatory).
