Vanity Fair asked me to talk about visual effects, and it was my great honor to show off some of ILM’s terrific work over the years.

@chockenberry gotta powder down the chrome dome
@tvaziri
ok random question: what is that denim over-shirt you're wearing in the vid?
(I love it)
@drewpickard it’s from AG, the Philip Coat
@tvaziri
Great, thank you. Lookin good 👍🏻
@tvaziri Looks great, but not gonna lie. This is what first popped into my head.
@tvaziri watching right now! Loving the detail you go into already!
@tvaziri Is the rope bit from "Skeleton Crew" the "homemade" bit you alluded to way back on various social media platforms?
@tvaziri I've watched a lot of your videos, and this was one of my favorites. Fantastic!
@jmuspratt thank you! it's mine, too!
@tvaziri Just watched with my son (7). He loved it and thinks you’re cool.
@calebsexton i think your son is cool, too
@tvaziri this was fascinating! Thanks for sharing, and for all the great work you and your colleagues do to make great movies!

@tvaziri this was so fun and inspiring! I have been compositing for several years and recently started learning Blender. Watching you walk through these shots has me hopping to my computer to learn more. Right. Now.

Also congrats on getting to work on a Star Wars shot with someone who inspired you to get into the business to begin with. That's just the absolute best.

@tvaziri Well done, love the passion.
@tvaziri "I make the stars in Star Wars" - amazing :)
@tvaziri this was freaking great Todd. “I make the stars in Star Wars.” 🤯 Literally said to myself out loud, “Wow!”
@tvaziri really cool. Also, you and Jeff Goldblum separated at birth, perhaps?
Have a plan and stick to the plan. So important in so many endeavors.
@tvaziri This was fantastic—thanks for sharing! Relatable expertise, great details, and very contagious enthusiasm. ILM is really lucky to have you!
@tvaziri Excellent material and presentation!

@tvaziri enjoyed the hell out of this.

I'd be very curious to hear about the new Stars tool that you built, particularly what was holding the old tool back, and what makes the new tool future-proof.

Maybe a future blog post, someday?

@tvaziri great video! I loved the bit about the rope!
@tvaziri this was awesome Todd. I enjoyed this over my morning coffee 👍
@tvaziri This popped up on my youtube feed today. Awesome video. Loved it and all the Corridor videos you've guested on.
@tvaziri This was incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot. Also, big props for making a point of calling out each person involved as you talked about everything. 💚

@tvaziri If there was a Patreon for a “Vaziri on SFX” (I'm still workshopping the name) regular series on YouTube, I'd totally Like *and* Subscribe *and* Click the Bell for notifications.

Just sayin’
