AWS Outage #itwasdns
@geerlingguy credit to the brilliant Randall Munroe for that gem.
@geerlingguy since this affected Docker, the comic applies amazingly well
@geerlingguy aws: outages as a service
@geerlingguy Thank good someone made that! I was thinking about that all morning!

@geerlingguy
It does illustrate a perverse incentive i have observed in the IT teams i work with. Namely the drive to outsource to the cloud all responsibility so that your IT job becomes more cushy, and so that you bear zero responsibility when stuff breaks.

I love IT guys but srsly.... Clicking azure config buttons does not make you a high power technology guru. It numbs your mind, rots your brain, traps you in MS only skills. Result: you become a tick box clicking red tape bureaucrat.

If you have and trust person that likes computer then, heuristically
for me, computer in closet is more reliable than cloud service.
(Don't forget how much config is baked into all things cloud service
and a broken config is the same as downtime.)
Did the AWS outage cause the docker issues?
