Not AWS broke the internet. Applications that are overly centralized broke the internet. Poor design choices.
@fluepke A lot of "foundational services" of AWS itself have a critical dependency on us-east-1.
Even if you're hosting your workloads on eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, DE), you'll be affected by this outage.
Not using AWS yourself? Maybe one of your service providers does, so you might be indirectly affected.
