@1casie Whatever "emacs" starts .. I prefer the GUI since that is how Emacs should be.
@amszmidt i can respect you, i am more of a terminalcel but I honestly prefer how plan9 handles the dillema by having terminals you launch shit from lol, I think rio is pretty good of a display server thing
@1casie No clue about how Plan9 does stuff, I live in a Lisp Machine.
@amszmidt pretty pls elaborate, i am familiar with the concept of a lisp machine but unfamiliar with it implementation(s) lol
@1casie Well I *start* it in gui mode, but then connect to it 90% of the time in tui. (But I avoid the abomination that is daemon mode)
@1casie I run the pgtk port of Emacs recently, and usually use vi when I'm in a terminal
@1casie I was a dedicated terminal Emacs user for my first 10 years of usage. Then I learned about the mix of font options I could have with the GUI, and that was the end of my terminal usage. My mouse is disabled in Emacs except for scrolling.
@1casie Both. GUI on my main workstation and I attach to this session from tty for remote access, which includes my phone (termux, ssh). Been rolling this way for the past 20 years or so, ever since Emacs gained the capability to display both GUI and tty frames from the same session.
