we're watching The X-Files from the beginning, because i've never seen it before, and i have absolutely no problem with so-called "monster of the week" episodes

but it WAS really weird to go from what feels like the main plot (alien abduction) in the first two episodes, to "oh also 100 year old lizard man serial killer" in episode 3

@popful When it first aired weekly it felt like a lot of time was passing between episodes so it felt more like leads on the main plot dried up and there were other strange cases coming in to investigate. I saw a tv marathon years ago and it also felt weird to me back then even though streaming hadn't become a thing yet 😆 I need to rewatch it. I can't remember hardly anything that happened in the series even though I loved it. ...other than the video game related episode 😈

it's a fun show though! weird that i waited 30 years to watch it but you know...been busy
