#WritersCoffeeClub 19. How do you keep track of dates and events in a WIP?

Until I was about 50K words into vol 3, I just kept it in my head. Then I kept needing to refer to the end of vol 2 so as not to contradict some tight relative timing between the plot threads. So I pulled a sparse outline out into Timeline notes in #novelwriter For most of the first two volumes, references to seasons and calendar points like holidays had been sufficient.

#WritersCoffeeClub 19. dates

I have not made a nice table of in-world dates because Traventi and Karnburg don't quite use the same calendars.
There isn't a common in-world equivalent to 1 CE/AD.
Traventi uses a Roman-style 8 day week, while most everywhere else (including Remora) uses the sun, moon + 5 planets astrological 7day week.
The whole continent is in various stages of the Julian to Gregorian calendar transition in terms of handling leap days and what that does to day and year counts.

It's a good thing Traventines (unlike Karnburgers) don't celebrate birthdays: Franz-Karl was born on May Day or May Eve, depending on whether you count the day as starting at sunset or midnight, and also where you are on the Julian/Gregorian shift and which year you add your leap days.
(I don't think the delta on when May Day happens in Traventi vs Karnburg is the full 12 days of the Old Christmas/Washington's Birthday split, but they aren't quite synced.)
