The End of Windows 10 Support Is an E-Waste Disaster in the Making

In an example of egregious planned obsolescence, as many as 400 million computers will soon hit the waste stream.

@404mediaco I don't understand why? Windows 10 updates will continue for another year. This hype that it ended is a lie.

@LanceJZ @404mediaco Only extended for the EU and those paying for it. Microsoft extended the death sentence for some users. That doesn't make it a lie.

If Windows 11 hardware requirements weren't so onerous, this would be less of a big deal. As it stands, it's a big deal.

@bobo_buffington @404mediaco that is wrong. I paid nothing for it, or for my wife, and we have updates for another year. All of EU gets updates for another year without doing anything. Keep up with the information available. This is a lie, saying it is not, does not make it not. It is not a big deal. What happened when Windows 7 hit EOL? Not much. People kept using it.

@LanceJZ Your accusations of lying are incorrect. I am "keeping up with information available." Nothing I said is incorrect. The one-year only applies to users in the EU AND users who pay for the one-year extension.

Yes, people can and will still continue to use Windows 10. It's still a big deal. Many businesses that will not use an unsupported Windows version will be forced to change OSes or get rid of a lot of perfectly serviceable hardware that may not be that old.

@bobo_buffington dude, you know it is wrong, yet you posted it, you are attempting to decive. You are trying to create the problem you are writing about. That is really not cool.
@LanceJZ okay. thanks for your feedback.
