Literally me. 11 successful installations of Linux in my area so far, with zero complaints, and I will be doing a 12th soon.

@eugenialoli great idea, more linux geeks should offer this kind of service to their non techy friends and family. I'll look for an opportunity to do it myself

@mlabowicz @eugenialoli I have just yesterday nuked my OS drive, got rid of Ubuntu and Windows and replaced it with Arch.

Works like a charm and even better than with Ubuntu, which now seems to be a bloatware...

I don't use that computer much, though... I play just 1 Steam game, some web... For that it is a perfect fit.

There must be many computers with little to no specialized use. They can run Linux alright...

@ssamulczyk @eugenialoli hmmm I have a new laptop coming in tomorrow and am trying to decide which distro to go with 🤔

@mlabowicz Installing Arch was fun. Sort of... Gentoo for people that cannot afford energy bill...😅

I even had to do some research why it didn't want to boot the installer on UEFI and made a few errors and missteps in the process I had to later correct. Works like a charm now and made me feel the fun of doing it again...😅

@eugenialoli

@ssamulczyk @eugenialoli I still find uefi mysterious in Linux installs. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and I can't always tell why

@mlabowicz The solution was actually easy, but not that obvious.

DDing iso to the usb stick did not do the job, because I think it was still MBR and Legacy BIOS.

What I had to do is to format a partition to Fat32 and just copy all the files from ISO to it...

Arch documentations is a bit vague about that...😅
