@sheislaurence Ι'm in Greece and I do a custom version of Linux Mint that works great for people that have basic computing needs.
@eugenialoli sounds great. I forget what i tried to download on my old macbook 2011) but realised afterwards it was known to be buggy. So instead I am left with a dead laptop which really pisses me off. I'll look into it again, hoping any new version can overwrite whatever is on there. That, or I take the train to Greece from London, which I've always wanted to do but it's cheaper to buy a new laptop 🥲
