HFCC has revealed #shortwave broadcast registrations for the #B25 season effective Oct 26. First thing I wanted to check... did #USAGM register any frequencies? Turns out, with almost everything shut down & silenced, they DID register frequencies for some of their former services... but not all.
There are no registrations for VOA English, but Chinese is there - even in quantities from pre-2024 cuts! 😱 (09-15z, not just 09-11z). Same for Tibetan - both via Tinang & Dushanbe only though.
Also, plenty of freqs for Radio Farda - which appears to be gone from SW again - and even more for Afghan broadcasts, in a 0030-1800z span previously shared btwn Radio Azadi (RFERL) and VOA Radio Ashna. (That means no Deewa or Mashaal.) Strangely - all via Kuwait.
Finally, there are a few Spanish-language broadcasts registered, all obviously Radio Marti, via Greenville. In fact, this is the only #USAGM station currently on air. To sum up: Tinang, Kuwait & Greenville are the only USAGM #shortwave sites planned for (dis)use - no Udon Thai, no German sites.
For reference, you can read through the list of these registrations @ new.hfcc.org/data/schedby... Again, all effective Oct 26, but in reality I expect all except Marti to remain silent. cc. @newsguy.bsky.social @kaedotcom.bsky.social @savevoa.bsky.social

PS. In case you wonder, Radyo Pilipinas is NOT planned to be put back on #shortwave, even if Kari Lake does ever bring all those wooden entried for Tinang into real broadcasts. Likewise Radio Thailand. #USAGM #B25
