In a previous skeet, I noted that Radio Farda (deprived of finances and tx backend by 👿 #USAGM) still has a couple #shortwave freqs registered for #B25 season via Kuwait. Their June war reactivation was done under the umbrella of Encompass, via Woofferton & Al-Dhabayya instead. They're silent now.

As always with #HFCC, there is a number of broadcast organisations, usually state-owned, that have long stopped using #shortwave radio, yet keep registering frequencies every season. Indonesia, UAE, Kuwait, most of Egypt - heck, even naZi ruZZia - are among them. Is #USAGM gonna become one too?

PS. In case you wonder, Radyo Pilipinas is NOT planned to be put back on #shortwave, even if Kari Lake does ever bring all those wooden entried for Tinang into real broadcasts. Likewise Radio Thailand. #USAGM #B25

Finally, there are a few Spanish-language broadcasts registered, all obviously Radio Marti, via Greenville. In fact, this is the only #USAGM station currently on air. To sum up: Tinang, Kuwait & Greenville are the only USAGM #shortwave sites planned for (dis)use - no Udon Thai, no German sites.

HFCC has revealed #shortwave broadcast registrations for the #B25 season effective Oct 26. First thing I wanted to check... did #USAGM register any frequencies? Turns out, with almost everything shut down & silenced, they DID register frequencies for some of their former services... but not all.

There's also another factor, and here's where #USAGM shutdown has its impact. Apparently all #shortwave licences in Germany are valid only until Dec 31 2025. Extensions are possible but at a cost of 4000€/year, instead of 1500€...
