Okay, I think I have a new favorite for "messed-up folk tale".

A noblewoman died in childbirth. However, she reappeared during the first 30 days after her death in order to breastfeed the child.

This is not yet the "messed-up" part - in fact, I have seen this particular trope elsewhere.

What is messed up is that the nursemaid spots her and tells the father. He then snuck up on the dead noblewoman, and "did not let her go again". They then lived together for two further years, and had two further sons with each other.

Anyway, if you want to play a #dhampir or other #ttrpg character who has some association with death, try this for a backstory...

@juergen_hubert Wonder if this has a common source with Euripides' Alcestis?
