I grew up in a city. I didn't play in the dirt. I didn't like dirt.

Three years ago I started gardening. Some successes, many failures. But I just harvested out my tomatillos and feel like "hey, I'm getting the hang of this!"

Lots of people talk up the "do scary stuff" element of being adventurous. But also, do new stuff which isn't scary! I love gardening now, and can't imagine living without a garden.

@Burn_this_ Yes, yes it is!

Exposure helps a lot if you are bug adverse and don't have a serious phobia. I used to get wigged out by almost any creepy crawly. Now I see worms and pollinators as "friendly", so that's huge progress. But I still only like to handle them while wearing gloves.
