I use an Android telephone,
and I still refuse to install the Android banking app from my bank, and try to avoid interacting with any bank account from my Android phone.
is this irrational behaviour in 2025?

I do the same. I don't like their apps and the way they push them. Not to mention they are usually HUGE. I don't have the space anyway. I just use a web browser. Works fine, less space and complication. Or pushyness. But I make sure of the connection first.
