I might have been the first person to hashtag #Tiswas on Mastodon.

@jackyan I was the first person to hashtag #KingCharlesSpiderManKnowledgeEstimation

For discussing how much King Charles knows about Spider-man.

I think King Charles will be familiar with the concept of Spider-man as a red and blue superhero who shoots webs, but he probably doesn't know any of the villains from the comics. He has likely met one or more actors who have been in Spider-man movies, and maybe been in the same room as Stan Lee. He has probably been informed at some point that Spider-man is secretly Peter Parker, but I reckon he has not retained that knowledge.

@isaacfreeman @jackyan I suspect that since he was a boy growing up in the Golden Age of Comics, you might perhaps be underestimating his knowledge of the subject. #KingCharlesSpiderManKnowledgeEstimation
@SimonCHulse He's of approximately the right generation, but as a British prince I think he would have been discouraged from taking an interest in American comics. I reckon he has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Beano characters though.
@jackyan
@isaacfreeman @SimonCHulse On a related note, I may have also been the first to hashtag #TheAvengers and made sure that it featured an Englishman in a bowler hat.
@jackyan @isaacfreeman I suspect he would still have a cursory knowledge of the American Comics, more than the average King of any country in our world today.
@jackyan @isaacfreeman as for firsts, I was involved in the creation of the #SeasOfMastodon hashtag, which needs more love.

@SimonCHulse It's certainly possible, no doubt. While I am not personally an adherent to the theory that King Charles has read at least one actual Spider-man comic, it is well within the mainstream of contemporary #KingCharlesSpiderManKnowledgeEstimation discourse.

In fact, this position is held by fully 50% of all people who used the hashtag this year. So you're in good company.
