I've been tracking my weight on and off since 2013. At my worst (2024 mid-burnout) I was north of 94kg (before 2013 I probably hit 100kg a few times tbh).

After changing diet, lifestyle, and reducing the stress (job change) I'm down to around 73kg, a target I never thought I'd hit. It's never too late đź’Ş

@ChrisJohnRiley Holly crap that’s impressive I’m currently dealing with the same, touching 94.
My diet could improve, but mostly it’s the stress that’s causing most issues I suppose. I need to somehow tackle this.

@zoid The stress cycle is tricky as it effects all areas. Bad sleep, no time to eat healthy and lack of energy to go to the gym. I needed help to break that cycle, but it's hard to get started.

I hope you can take that first step 🙏#SlowAndSteady

@ChrisJohnRiley You basically just described my every day. Mind to share what help you got? It’s ok if you don’t want to or can’t.
@zoid Not sure I'm the poster child for a solution sadly. It took a major burnout, six months of therapy, and a pre-diabetes diagnosis to break the cycle for me. That's a hardcore way to do it.
@ChrisJohnRiley Ah shit, sorry for that. Burnout … done that sadly and think I’m heading that way again. Therapy, just saw the costs over the last 5 years. It’s been quite a bumpy ride the last 5 years. Really need to kick myself in the but.
@zoid Sometimes you need to give yourself compassion. Driving harder and harder didn't work for me. I needed to slow down and accept some limitations in order to improve.
@ChrisJohnRiley Yes makes sense. The kick in the but is more meant to make room for gym, naps, and reduce work hours.
Being self employed gives me this freedom but unfortunately I chose to not use these advantages.

@zoid Being self employed probably adds to the pressure. There's a need to be successful, and that eats into your personal space.

I made the hard choice a few years ago to slowly reduce exchanging my time (and health) for money. I'm lucky to have flipped this now and exchanged money for time and health… but it's not always that easy.
