There is literally nothing we can do about this except blame China. There is no reason why NZ should care at all about carbon emission reduction. If anything, we should increase carbon emissions.

Also nuclear and also solar and also wind farms. The point is that they have been and are continuing to shift their energy production to renewables and nuclear which is something the rest of the world is not doing.
